Airline tickets and fees ( How to avoid them and save money?)

Finding the best deal on a flight has become a lot more difficult, due to heavy baggage and service fees that most traveler's may not be aware of until they arrive at the airline counter.

" The tickets were already high enough" .

So is there a way to avoid these unexpected fees and ticket prices?

With careful planning...YES!

Because I'm a careful planner and (like you) I also like to save on airline tickets...
Here are ways to save, avoid, or by-pass those unexpected fees.

Avoiding Baggage and Service Fees

Baggage and service fees go unnoticed until it is too late for traveler's to shop around for the best price. So how can we avoid these fees? It's SIMPLE.

Before purchasing your ticket call or check the airline's website to find out their weight requirements for your luggage, change reservation fees, and any other services fees they might charge.
This can enable you to shop around for the best prices which will allow you to save a lot of money because these fees can get very expensive.

Or...

If you are like me, always carrying one check in bag and one empty carry on bag you could place material in your carry on to meet the weight requirements for your check in luggage.

So if you are traveling as a family I would most definitely shop around for the best prices first.

Getting The Best Flight Tickets

Major airlines are raising the price of their airline tickets so what. You can always find great deals on major airline tickets through travel agencies therefore, you don't always have to book your flight on a major airline's website.

When I'm looking to find a great deal I always shop around on cheapoair they always have out performed competitors like expedia, and travelocity. Also cheapoair is always giving discounts to traveler's...check there website and see for yourself.

Here are some other great travel agencies you can check out...orbitz, priceline, hotwire, and smartfares ( plus there are many more).

So now that you know that travel agencies are always offering great deals.... Can I still get a better deal?
YES!. I recently found out after doing my homework that the cheapest days to fly are Tuesdays, Wednesday's, and Fridays. So when you book your airline ticket try these days first.

Alright the last advice I can give is what I always do to find the best deals possible. As I stated earlier careful planning can be your guide to finding great deals on airline tickets. So what about planning ahead of time?

Me I always plan ahead of time when I'm going to travel because this gives me more time to find great deals on tickets (I call it the Un-Fair Advantage). Most travelers won't have this flexibility; therefore, book your tickets five to six months before your travel date and be surprised at how much more you will save.

All together if you can use all these techniques I guarantee you will save, avoid, or by-pass those unexpected fees.

You Agree or Disagree feel free to share your thoughts.
